SHIP INFORMATION |
Several vessels are planned having approximately 100 to 550
staterooms with a combined total of about 1,500. Ship types and
characteristics are intended to provide different cruise
experiences, including optimum quality, adventure, lots of time for
port activities, much lower annual cost and exceptional value
compared to typical commercial cruise and real estate timeshare
vacations.
Cruiseshared ships are operated by Romantic
Cruise Lines. Management includes leading marine and cruise ship
personnel.
Several ships with a combined total of about 1,500 cabins will
offer a mix of cruising capabilities. Exchange privileges allow
Cruiseshare owners to cruise on any of the vessels.
The following Romantic ships are or
might be available as Cruiseshared vessel, as stated.
- REMBRANDT - 38,645 gross
tons, 580 staterooms, 545 for Cruiseshares.
The Rembrandt was but is not presently a Cruiseshared vessel.
SOLAS (Safety of Life at Sea) regulations now state that there can
be no flammable materials on passenger vessels effective in 2010.
Much of the Rembrandt's elegance comes from extensive fine wood
interiors throughout much of the vessel. The Rembrandt and several
other excellent ships do not comply. Efforts are under way by
major maritime entities to develop methods of fireproofing wood
and other materials on such vessels. Based on original financial
arrangements, the operation of the Rembrandt for a limited 8 year
period as a Cruiseshared vessel would not be economical.
Activities are under way to confirm that SOLAS compliance will be
possible and/or to determine fiscal circumstances that make
introduction of the vessel economically viable.
- ROMANTIC I - 15,500 gross
tons, 243 staterooms.
The Romantic I features an up-scale ambience. It will start
service on March 1st, 2003.
- ROMANTIC II - Details
pending.
The Romantic II will be delivered in the Fall of 2003.
- ROMANTIC III - Under
negotiation.
