Cruiseshare Ownership Includes

WHAT DOES CRUISESHARE OWNERSHIP INCLUDE ?

(a)     Description

Cruiseshares consist of an interest in a specified vessel including an exclusive right to occupy a stateroom, full use of public areas, gourmet dining, entertainment and other fine on-board amenities for 7 days each year. There are 50 Cruiseshares for each stateroom. The other two weeks each year are reserved for maintenance.

Each Cruiseshare includes a specific 7 day time period and a designated stateroom or cabin category. Cruiseshare owners have the option of using the specified time period or can cruise during a different time period. The 7 days can be used together or one or more days at a time until all 7 days are utilized. Cruise days can also be traded for voyages on other Romantic vessels.

(b)     Duration of Ownership

Cruiseshares can be purchased for different lengths of time, as follows:

  • Ship Life - For the life of the ship which could be 20 years or more depending on maintenance, safety compliance and upkeep which is controlled by Cruisehare owners. If a ship stops operating, the asset remains the property of the Cruiseshare owners.
  • Eight Years - For 8 years with the right to use all of the Cruiseshare vacations at any time during the 8 year period, all in 1 year if desired. Maintenance fees for each year must be paid before the cruise assigned to a year is used. When the Cruiseshares for all 8 years have been used Cruiseshare ownership can be renewed for another 8 year period.

(c)      Concierge Service

Concierge Service is provided to some staterooms that may be separated from other accommodations. Without diminishing the excellent service and enjoyment experienced by all cruise passengers, Concierge Service offers additional benefits, similar to those provided by luxury hotels on designated floors with restricted access, including a concierge. Prices are increased by $1,500 for Ship Life and $800 for Eight Year Cruiseshares. Maintenance fees are increased by $50.

(d)     Services

Prior to departure, Cruiseshare owners provide ship management with special requests for desired services that may be provided during their cruise. These include preferred beverages, special dietary requirements, recreational reservations on board or while on shore (like golf, tennis, scuba, etc.), special health considerations (prescription medicine is not provided), individual and group events, business meetings, and other services not normally offered to all passengers on commercial cruise ships.

Passengers are required to pay a fee for some services and goods, including the beauty salon, duty free shop purchases, land tours, some alcoholic beverages and certain personal services. Casino wagering is at the discretion of passengers.

Services, facilities and amenities on Romantic ships are intended to be the same or better than those found on similar commercial cruise ships and include some that are exclusive to Cruiseshare owners.

(f)      Ownership Document

All Cruiseshare owners become members of a not for profit, tax exempt association ("Association") that is responsible for overseeing the business of the vessel. The Association issues an Ownership Certificate to Cruiseshare buyers.
